NivorDeck

NivorDeck replaces the new tab page with a customizable bookmark and widget grid. It has no developer-operated server, analytics, advertising, account system or remote AI service. The extension does not send your bookmarks, browsing history, widget contents or wallpaper to the developer.

Information used locally

Bookmarks: titles, addresses and folders are used to display and organize your grid. Creating, editing, moving or deleting a bookmark in NivorDeck can also change Chrome bookmarks. Chrome's own account synchronization settings govern any browser bookmark synchronization.
Browsing history: recent titles, addresses and visit counts are read to provide frequently visited alphabet results and address suggestions. NivorDeck does not delete or modify browsing history.
Local storage: layout, preferences, notes, tasks, timer deadlines and your selected wallpaper are stored in this browser profile. Favicons and processed variants are cached in IndexedDB. Migration backups may retain older layouts in local extension storage.
Clipboard: copy and paste commands access clipboard contents only when invoked by the user. Clipboard text is not sent to the developer.

Network requests

Chrome's favicon API supplies normal website icons. If you grant optional site access, adding a website or requesting a favicon update can fetch that site's public homepage and declared icon resources. These requests omit cookies and referrer information. The extension requests the homepage rather than the private path or query in your saved bookmark. Websites and their icon hosts necessarily receive normal connection information, including your IP address, and may apply their own privacy policies.

Favicon enhancement runs locally in a worker using code and model weights included in the extension. It does not upload images to an AI provider. Selecting a local wallpaper does not upload the image.

Opening bookmarks or the optional Ko-fi support link navigates to an external site governed by that site's own privacy policy. The Ko-fi button is an ordinary link and does not embed third-party tracking code.

Control and retention

You can disable alphabet panels, the keyword filter or low-resolution favicon enhancement in settings, and revoke optional site access through Chrome's extension controls. Turning these features off does not automatically erase existing local caches or migration backups. Removing the extension removes its extension storage; Chrome bookmarks and history remain governed by Chrome. Do not uninstall the extension merely to update it if you want to retain widget contents and layout.

NivorDeck follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements, when using information received from Google APIs.
